The Menhennett Foundation was established in 1989 by Tim & Tami Menhennett in memory of Tim’s father, Glenn Menhennett, a graduate of Kremmling Union High School in 1941. After High School, Glenn enlisted in the US Navy and became a pilot flying amphibious aircraft in the South Pacific during WWII. When the war ended, he returned to the states and later graduated from the University of Notre Dame School of Law. Although the Menhennett Foundation was formed in remembrance of Glenn Menhennett , we also pay homage to Esther Menhennett, wife of Glenn and mother to their 4 young children and Robert & Grace Menhennett who adopted those children when Glenn & Esther’s lives were tragically cut short.
In the foundation’s infancy many scholarships were awarded to graduating seniors in Grand County. Since 2018 the Foundation has evolved into a 501c3 non-profit organization which continues to support individuals and local causes by offering a hand up rather than a handout approach. As the Foundation became a charitable organization through the Colorado Secretary of State, we can share how our organization was formed which is to provide scholarships and financial assistance to veterans, seniors, and individuals who have been affected by a tragedy or emergency in Grand County. As the Menhennett Foundation continues to evolve we also donate to organizations and causes that affect our community.
